Easy to use telescopic positioning stay. With multiple fixed holding positions the Cam-Stay provides quick and steady support and is ideally suited for a wide range of applications where a weight must be held or supported at various angles. Some alternate names for the Cam-Stays are Telescoping Lid Support, Telescoping Lid Stay, Telescoping Door and Lid Support and Telescopic Multi-Postional Stays.
The Cam-Stay mechanism is simple and reliable. Although it does not provide lifting force like a gas spring, sometimes that isn't the issue. Often, an operator is easily able to open a door, and you simply want to help the operator hold the door in the open position, leaving their hands free. The holding mechanism requires no fiddling with knobs or latches to set the position, it just stays where you left it.
Cam-Stays might be combined with gas springs, to reduce operator lift effort, but it's important that the net force is always to close, so the Cam-Stay latching mechanism can work properly.
