Hinges Around Town - Guden Hinge Paint Clearance

Ever wonder why sometimes you see a different size gaps around the knuckles of a hinge?  The gap is the paint clearance for the hinge and is set at a standard dimension for each hinge size to give enough space for painting. If the painting is too thick, the knuckles will touch the surface of the barrel when the hinge rotates and some of the paint may scrape off.  Definitely not something you want to happen.
