One Position, Several Positions, or a Positive Lock?
A lid, cover, shelf, or folding leg may need support once it reaches the open position. The type of hardware depends on how the component must be held and how it should release when it is time to close.

Holding at One Open Position
A lid support is used when a lid or cover needs to remain open at a set position.
Guden light-duty lid supports use a ride-over locking mechanism. Once the support reaches the open position, it holds the component in place. Firm pressure releases the mechanism when the lid or cover needs to close.
Options include nickel-plated steel and stainless steel, along with several sizes and mounting configurations. Examples include the 7752LH-14 nickel-plated lid support and the 7752LH-32 stainless steel lid support.
Left-hand and right-hand versions are available, so mounting direction should be confirmed before selecting a part.

Locking a Folding Leg or Shelf
A folding leg or shelf may require a support that remains locked until it is intentionally released.
Guden heavy-duty table leg braces use a positive locking system. The locking mechanism must be manually released before the brace can collapse, helping the supported component remain firmly open during use.
Several sizes and left-hand or right-hand configurations are available. The 7791LH-02 and 7791RH-02 provide left-hand and right-hand table leg brace options.

Holding at Several Positions
A Cam-Stay is used when a lid, panel, or cover needs to stop at more than one angle.
Guden Cam-Stays are available with five, six, or ten holding positions, depending on the model. The operator moves the component manually, and the Cam-Stay holds it at the selected position.
Match the Support to the Function
The number of holding positions is only part of the selection.
A lid support can hold a component at one open position. A table leg brace provides positive locking until it is manually released. A Cam-Stay provides several fixed positions for components that need more than one opening angle.
